Tears as a Path to Freedom:

At this time of year, emotions often run deeper, and tears may flow more freely. And it usually has to do with the loss of a loved one (s) or feeling you are alone and yet most people do not realize they are never truly alone. Let me tell you this: crying doesn’t mean you’ve failed or fallen short. It means you’ve chosen to honor what’s stirring inside of you. It takes immense courage to sit with your pain, to stop running, and simply feel.

I’ve been there - - holding back tears for fear of appearing weak or losing control. But when I finally let go, and I remember the very first time this happened. I was in the back of a taxi in Vancouver and tears were streaming down my cheek. The tears were hot. Later I was told it was because I was unthawing from many years of trauma. Remember the body keeps score. So when I allowed the dam to break, I felt a release so profound that it was as if years of unspoken sorrow left my body. Science even tells us that tears release toxins, both physically and emotionally.

The holidays can amplify the feelings you’ve kept tucked away, the memories of joy, grief, or longing. You’ve carried the weight of excruciating moments that no one else fully knows about. You’ve held it together for so long, putting on a brave face for the world. But now, give yourself permission to let it all out - - to unblock the flow of emotions you’ve been holding back.

In and through my work with my dream clients the theme of transformation always begins with acceptance. By letting yourself feel the depth of your emotions, you’re making space for something greater. When you embrace your tears, you’re releasing the toxicity of old beliefs, outdated stories, and the heavy layers of unprocessed pain.

Each tear is part of your renewal, a necessary step to transform the limited version of yourself into the expansive, liberated being you are meant to be. You’re not broken - - you’re healing. And as you allow these tears to flow, you’re creating space for hope, light, and the freedom you’ve been seeking.

Let yourself cry. It’s not a weakness - - it’s your power in action. Through this release, you are stepping into a greater reality, one where you can live more authentically, free from the limitations of the past. Transformation is waiting for you on the other side. Are you ready to take the first step?
