The Quiet Work of Becoming Intimate with Yourself

There’s a kind of intimacy with yourself that’s not just about knowing who you are but about daring to be present with the parts of you that feel exposed, raw, and unprotected. It’s not easy. Poet David Whyte describes intimacy as a “presence magnified by our vulnerability,” a meeting place between our deepest fears and desires.

This kind of self-intimacy asks us to sit with the truth of what we want, even if it terrifies us. It’s about learning to meet ourselves - - not just the polished, presentable parts, but the messy, untamed desires that flow beneath the surface, threatening to disrupt our well-ordered lives.

For years, I kept my own desires buried, afraid of what might happen if they were seen or, worse if they were met. Vulnerability felt like too big a risk. But denying those desires didn’t make them go away; it only left me feeling disconnected from myself, as though I was living from the outside in instead of the inside out.

Intimacy Begins Within

True intimacy isn’t something we find in someone else; it’s something we build within ourselves. It’s the art of living from the inside out, as Whyte puts it - - a dance between what’s calling from deep within us and what the world reflects back in response.

When you allow yourself to feel the ache of your unmet desires, to sit with your fears instead of running from them, you start to cultivate a kind of intimacy that changes everything. This work isn’t about fixing yourself; it’s about meeting yourself, exactly as you are, and creating a safe space for all of your truths to exist.

A Living Force Waiting to Emerge

There’s a volcanic force inside you, one that’s been waiting for permission to erupt - - not in destruction but in transformation. It’s your unspoken desires, your suppressed dreams, your deepest truths. The parts of you that are tired of hiding.

To step into self-intimacy is to become vulnerable to these truths. It’s to feel the fear of being seen - -not just by others, but by yourself. And in that seeing, you’ll discover a strength you didn’t know you had.

Can You Meet Yourself Here?

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine what it would feel like to truly know yourself - - to be so present with your desires, your fears, your wounds, that nothing feels hidden anymore. What would it look like to create a safe, sacred space where your truth is welcomed without judgment?

This is the space where healing begins. Where the noise in your head and the heaviness in your heart start to quiet. Where you stop living for others and start living for yourself.

Your Journey Awaits

If you’re ready to step into this work - - this terrifying, transcendent work of becoming intimate with yourself - - I’m here to guide you creating the space for you to meet your truth, to peel back the layers of denial, and to reclaim the life you’ve been longing for.

Are you ready to live from the inside out? Your peace and freedom begins NOW.
